Do I need a GP referral to see a private urologist?
A referral is not required to book a private consultation, and you are welcome to contact us directly. If you have any relevant test results, imaging, or clinic letters, we encourage you to share them with your consultant’s secretary before your appointment where possible.
If you are using private medical insurance, please check your policy beforehand, as your insurer may require a referral letter from a GP or another healthcare professional to authorise your consultation.
How much does a private urology consultation cost?
For self-funding patients, consultation fees are £340 for new patient appointments and £230 for follow-up appointments. Should any diagnostic tests or procedures be recommended, we or the hospital will confirm the associated costs with you in advance.
Which insurers do you accept?
We are recognised by all major UK private medical insurers including Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, WPA, Cigna, Vitality, Allianz and Healix. Please contact your insurer to obtain pre-authorisation before your appointment.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
We typically offer appointments within 24 to 48 hours of your enquiry. Same-day appointments may be available for urgent concerns — please contact us to discuss.
Where are your clinics located?
Our main private outpatient clinic is at 18 Devonshire Street in Marylebone, Central London. Our consultants also practise at St John & St Elizabeth Hospital, Welbeck London, Chelsea Outpatient Centre and Cleveland Clinic London.
Do you treat both men and women?
Yes. Our consultant team provides specialist care for men, women and adolescents across the full spectrum of urological conditions. This includes prostate, kidney and bladder cancer, kidney stones, recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs), urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, male and female reconstructive urology, mesh complications, urinary fistulae, congenital urological conditions and other complex urological disorders.
