About Mr Nobrega

Mr Richard Nobrega is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and the Clinical Lead for Neuro-Urology at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH), which hosts one of the largest specialist spinal injury units in the United Kingdom.

Having held the position of Co-Chair for Female and Reconstructive Urology services across North Central London, Mr Nobrega is equipped to bring together multidisciplinary expertise to improve patient outcomes in this complex field. He was appointed as a substantive consultant in 2022.

Mr Nobrega is dedicated to the holistic management and lifelong care of patients with neurological conditions affecting the urinary tract, and he has undergone sub-specialist fellowship training to provide treatment of male and female incontinence, female bladder health including pelvic organ prolapse, complex voiding dysfunction and expertise in reconstruction of the urinary tract.

He is also part of a specialised team providing survivorship for both men and women who suffer with incontinence after cancer surgery and radiotherapy.

He is an active investigator in several studies within the field of nerve stimulation in spinal cord injury, mixed incontinence and overactive bladder, and development of novel catheters. He is an invited international speaker, moderator and teacher; has published in peer reviewed journals and presented his work at both national and international conferences.
