Honorary Associate Professor Jeremy Ockrim

Honorary Associate Professor Jeremy Ockrim is one of the UK's leading specialists in female and reconstructive urology, with over 30 years' experience helping men and women with complex bladder, pelvic floor and urinary conditions.

He is one of the lead Consultant Urological Surgeons in the female and reconstructive urology service at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and Honorary Associate Professor at University College London (UCL). Patients are referred to him from across the UK and internationally for specialist assessment and treatment of conditions.

He is widely recognised as one of the foremost experts in incontinence and prolapse surgery, and was among the first surgeons in the United Kingdom to pioneer non-mesh surgical approaches for these conditions. His clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of female and male (post-prostatectomy) urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, urinary fistulae including vesicovaginal fistulae, urethral diverticula and female urethral stricture disease. He is internationally known for his work treating women with mesh complications as one of the lead surgeons at the London Complex Mesh Centre, as well as the management of bladder pain syndrome and complex reconstructive urological problems.

Mr Ockrim brings over two decades of specialist experience to every patient consultation, combining technical precision with a compassionate, evidence-based approach to care. He believes that many bladder and pelvic floor conditions can have a profound impact on quality of life, affecting confidence, work, relationships and everyday activities. His approach is centred on understanding each patient's individual concerns and providing evidence-based, personalised treatment. Wherever possible, he offers non-surgical options before considering advanced reconstructive surgery.

Mr Ockrim is a member of the joint FFR-BSUG specialist unit for complex female incontinence, reflecting his standing as a trusted authority in the most challenging cases.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Ockrim is an active researcher, teacher and international lecturer. He has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, with over 2,000 academic citations, and his research has contributed to advances in reconstructive urology, urinary incontinence and lower urinary tract dysfunction. He continues to teach and lecture nationally and internationally and is an active member of leading British, European and American urological organisations.

Outside of clinical practice, he lives in London with his wife and three children.
