Patient Information
We want your visit to be as straightforward and stress-free as possible. Here's everything you need to know.
What to Expect
Before Your Appointment
Upon confirmation of your appointment, you will receive a detailed email with all the information you need ahead of your visit.
To support a seamless and highly focused consultation, we will ask you to provide a referral letter or a brief summary of your medical history and current symptoms.
It would also be helpful if you could provide a list of your current medications, along with any relevant test results, imaging, or medical reports from other specialists, prior to your appointment.
During Your Consultation
Your initial consultation typically lasts approximately 30 minutes. During this time, your consultant will take a comprehensive medical history, discuss your symptoms in detail, and, where clinically appropriate, carry out a physical examination.
Diagnostic tests or imaging may be arranged following your consultation, either on the same day where feasible or at a time that is convenient for you.
Your consultant will clearly explain their initial assessment and guide you through the most appropriate next steps, including any investigations or treatment options.
After Your Appointment
Following your consultation, you will receive a detailed letter summarising your assessment and recommended next steps. With your consent, this will also be shared with your GP and any other relevant healthcare professionals.
Our team will arrange any follow-up appointments, tests, or procedures as discussed with your consultant.
If you are self-funding, our team will provide a written quotation for any recommended tests, ensuring you are fully informed before you choose to proceed.
Procedure Arrangements
If a procedure is recommended, your consultant will discuss the available options with you and agree a clear treatment plan before any arrangements are made.
Once you have chosen to proceed, the booking process will be managed by the consultant's secretary, who will coordinate with you, the hospital and the anaesthetist to secure a suitable date. You will receive an admission letter confirming the procedural details, including location and expected length of stay; this also serves as a written quotation for the consultant's surgical fee.
For self-funding patients, a separate written quotation will be provided by the hospital outlining their associated fees, ensuring full transparency before proceeding.
Any pre-assessment requirements will be arranged directly by the hospital team, who will contact you in advance of your procedure.
Should you have any questions at any stage, our team remains available to support you.
